Terms of service

Last updated 16 October 2026

The terms for using Sockit. They apply to the organisation that sets up Sockit and to everyone who uses it on that organisation's behalf.

These terms

Sockit is provided by Ziliconcloud LLC (“we”, “us”), working with its affiliate Ziliconcloud Private Limited. These terms are an agreement between us and the organisation that installs or subscribes to Sockit (“the customer”, “you”). The person who accepts them during setup confirms they may do so for the customer.

If the customer has signed a separate agreement or order with us for Sockit, that agreement takes precedence over these terms where the two differ.

What Sockit is

Sockit is software for managing identities, computers and IT operations. It consists of a server with a web console, and agents installed on the customer's Windows, macOS and Linux computers. The customer either runs the server itself or has us run it. Each server serves one organisation.

Sockit connects to systems the customer chooses, such as Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft Teams, a mail server and AI providers. Those systems are not part of Sockit and are provided under their own terms.

Your right to use Sockit

While these terms are in effect, we give the customer a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to install and use Sockit for its own internal business, on the number of computers and for the period it has paid for or agreed with us [to be confirmed: plan and computer limits].

Sockit, its software and its documentation remain ours. The customer may not resell or sublicense Sockit, copy it beyond what running it requires, reverse engineer it except where the law allows, or remove its notices.

Your responsibilities

  • Monitoring people lawfully. Sockit can record how work computers are used, including applications used and their window titles, network connections, sign-ins and file activity. The customer decides what to collect and must have the right to do so: telling staff about the monitoring, getting consent, and consulting worker representatives where the law or employment agreements require it.
  • Your administrators. The customer decides who can use Sockit and with which permissions, keeps sign-in details safe, and is responsible for what its users do in Sockit.
  • Changes Sockit makes for you. When the customer turns on directory changes or acts on computers through Sockit (for example disabling accounts, resetting passwords, removing software, running scripts, installing updates or giving administrator access), Sockit does what the customer's users instruct. The customer is responsible for those actions and for testing them before relying on them.
  • Your server. If the customer runs the Sockit server, it is responsible for that server, its security, its backups, encrypted access to the console, and keeping Sockit updated.
  • AI providers. If the customer adds an AI provider, it accepts that provider's terms and chooses what Sockit may send to it, as described in the Sockit privacy policy.

Acceptable use

The customer and its users may not use Sockit to:

  • monitor or act on computers or accounts the customer has no right to manage;
  • break the law, including privacy, employment and computer-misuse laws;
  • attack, probe or disrupt other systems, or try to get around Sockit's security or permissions;
  • build a competing product from Sockit.

Your data

Information that Sockit collects or stores for the customer belongs to the customer. The Sockit privacy policy describes what Sockit collects and where it goes.

  • When the customer runs the server, its data stays there; Sockit sends nothing back to us.
  • When we run the server, we use the customer's data only to provide and support Sockit for the customer, keep it confidential, and protect it with reasonable security measures. Where data protection law requires it, we will sign a data processing agreement with the customer [to be confirmed: standard DPA].

Fees

The customer pays the fees in its order or agreement with us, on the terms set out there [to be confirmed: payment terms, taxes, renewals]. If fees are overdue, we may suspend the service after giving notice.

Updates and support

We release updates to the Sockit server and agents from time to time. Support is provided as agreed with the customer [to be confirmed: support hours, response times and, for servers we run, availability]. We may change or remove features, and will not knowingly remove a feature the customer depends on without reasonable notice.

Confidentiality

Each side keeps the other's non-public information confidential, uses it only for this agreement, and shares it only with people who need it and are bound to keep it confidential. This does not cover information that is public, already known, independently developed or that the law requires to be disclosed.

Warranties

We will provide Sockit with reasonable skill and care. Apart from that, and to the extent the law allows, Sockit is provided “as is”: we do not promise that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, that it will catch every problem or threat, or that results from its AI features will be accurate. The customer should review AI suggestions before acting on them.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, neither side is liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost profits, revenue or data, and each side's total liability under these terms is limited to [to be confirmed: for example the fees paid in the twelve months before the claim]. These limits do not apply to liability that cannot be limited by law, or to [to be confirmed: exclusions such as breach of confidentiality or the customer's payment obligations].

Term and ending

These terms apply from when they are accepted until the customer's subscription or licence ends [to be confirmed: term and renewal]. Either side may end them if the other seriously breaches them and does not fix the breach within thirty days of being told.

When they end, the customer stops using Sockit and uninstalls the agents. For a server we run, the customer can export or ask for its data for [to be confirmed: period] after the end, after which we delete it.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [to be confirmed: jurisdiction], and disputes go to the courts of [to be confirmed: venue].

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top and, for material changes, tell customers in advance. Questions about these terms: info@ziliconcloud.com.
